One of the things I love most about the music business is how service minded many top executives are. Unlike most other industries, the music business takes care of its own and this episode features two of the best examples of this phenomenon in practice. These two people are at the top of their field, yet make plenty of time to give back in the service of others. That's effective leadership!
Chris Lisle is a Nashville-based production and touring veteran with 35+ years of experience as a Production Designer, Lighting Designer, Production Manager, and Show Producer for artists ranging from Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert to Alice Cooper and Robert Plant. Cameo Carlson is CEO of mtheory, with a career spanning EVP roles at Universal Motown/Republic Records, digital strategy at Borman Entertainment, and early work building the iTunes ecosystem, plus two U.S. patents to her name. She launched the Equal Access program for underrepresented artists in country music and sits on the boards of the ACM, Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Recording Academy's Nashville chapter.
